Sunday workshop program
Howard B. Levine's Sunday Workshop
Sunday, 11 October 2026
09:00–15:00
Venue: Hungarian Psychoanalytical Society
Address: 1081 Budapest, II. János Pál pápa tér 6, Hungary
Howard B. Levine in this three part workshop will explore the challenges of working in standard psychoanalytic setting with severe personality pathology. Levine will consider action and enactment not simply as resistance or disruption, but as possible forms of communication and as starting points for the emergence of representation, thought, and meaning.
The first part will feature Levine’s presentation, continuing his lecture at the preceding Budapest Psychoanalytic Conference. The seminar can be attended independently; Sunday-only participants will receive access to the first part of the lecture. The second part will be a discussion with cognitive development researcher György Gergely. The seminar will conclude with a discussion of Winnicott’s seminal paper "Fear of Breakdown". The workshop offers an opportunity for in-depth dialogue and clinical reflection in a smaller, interactive setting.
